Pakistan has added a player to its 2023 Asia Cup squad
AISA CUP 2023

With Tayyab Tahir designated as the traveling reserve, Pakistan's Asia Cup roster has been expanded to include middle-order hitter Saud Shakeel.

Shakeel was the 18th member of the ODI squad for the Afghanistan bilateral series and was not a part of the original 17-person team. The three-match ODI series against Afghanistan saw Tahir, who had earlier been included to the team, not play a single match. As a backup player for the squad at the Asia Cup, he will travel.

Shakeel played just one game and scored nine runs while making a comeback to the ODI squad for the Afghanistan series.

On August 30 in Multan, Pakistan will play Nepal in their opening match of the Asia Cup. On Monday night, Babar Azam, Imam ul Haq, and Naseem Shah will join the team before they go for Multan on Tuesday.

Pakistan squad: Babar Azam (c), Abdullah Shafique, Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Salman Ali Agha, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Haris, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Usama Mir, Faheem Ashraf, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi, Saud Shakeel, Tayyab Tahir (travelling reserve).
