The star and protagonist of the Baki the Grappler series is Baki Hanma (Hanma Baki). He made the decision to take control of his training when he was thirteen, following in his father's footsteps and performing more rigorous training. Later, he intends to defeat him. At age fifteen, Baki entered the no-rules ring for the first time and went on to win. He is the half-brother of Jack Hanma and the son of Yuujirou Hanma and Emi Akezawa.
He is referred to as the "Champion" (Chanpion) of the Tokyo Dome Underground Arena. He is frequently referred to as "the World's Strongest Boy" in the fourth manga series.
